My mom was just diagnosed. Her mass is 5cm and it appears as though it is in the lymph nodes in her underarm. Her cancer cells are a grade three on a scale of three. We are headed out to Breastlink this coming week from Indiana. I told her maybe a body scan would give us a better idea of where the cancer is, or is not, but she did not schedule one prior to going out to CA. I will do whatever it takes to support her, I love her so much. We just lost my dad in January to Prostate Cancer. He was only 63 and we were told his was not the aggressive kind. I need to be prepared for the worst, but I am hoping and praying everyday for her to be strong and fight this disease. I am wondering if anyone has stories they could share with me about this stage of breast cancer. I have not found statistics on survival rate at this point. My mom is a fighter, a fiesty woman, but misses her husband deeply. She feels bad for putting us in the position of having to take care of her in the future when she is recovering or going through chemo. I remind her that I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. Any advice?
