Cheryl has more than 25 years experience in the area of oncology clinical trials. She is a Certified Clinical Research Professional. Her experience includes thirteen years with the Children's Oncology Group, one of the NCI funded Cancer Cooperative Groups, and seven years as Director, Central Protocol and Data Monitoring Office at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Cheryl has developed training programs for research coordinators, authored physician guidelines for developing research protocols, and participated in the development and implementation of quality assurance systems for clinical research. She has served as a member of Institutional Review Boards and Scientific Review and Monitoring Committees.
As Director of Clinical Research at Breastlink, Cheryl has responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the clinical research program. She supervises the Clinical Research Coordinators and helps ensure that our research is conducted in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Cheryl believes it is the responsibility of each person involved in the research process to ensure that every research volunteer is treated according to all of the ethical principles for conduct of research. We are indebted to these courageous individuals.
Cheryl is a Past-President of the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA), a non-profit, professional organization dedicated to the continuing education and development of clinical research professionals. Each year she chairs a 2-day workshop on the protection of human research participants.
